THE ORDERING PROCESS - HOW does it work?

STEP 1

INSPIRATION

It starts with an idea, colour or theme. Browse the latest collections below and decide if there is a style that you have already fallen in love with or whether you want to create something completely bespoke. Once you have made your decisions then drop me an email

Samples

I strongly suggest purchasing a sample so that you can review the card stock and tactile nature of letterpress upfront.

STEP 2

DESIGN

I put together the designs based on your initial thoughts and share these with you in a digital file, along with a detailed quote. Note: bespoke work takes much longer but using collections is a great way to look at what you like.

We can then Zoom/ WhatsApp chat/ email through all of the finer details and start to bring the designs to life.

3. Digital Proof and quotation

A digital pdf proof will be put together for you to review online. Unfortunately due to the nature of letterpress I cannot send you a printed proof to review which is why samples are so important. Simply email any revisions you require to the proof and I will aim to turn these around as quickly as possible.

I will also ask you to confirm quantities so that I can formalise a quote for the work. Please ensure you order a few spare as it costs more to print just a few copies due to the time it takes to set up the press.

4. Sign off

Once you are happy with the proof and quotation I will ask you to ‘sign off’. This is by far the most important step. I have had many couples that have missed typos and even important ‘dates’! I do try to help spot them but it isn’t easy when you have been staring at the screen for a while. Unfortunately once the plates have been ordered I cannot take responsibility for any errors and I will print as per the proof!

STEP 3

REVISIONS & PROOFING

Once you have your design proofs, we need to review each piece ensuring there are no typos or amendments to the text. Once you are happy to proceed I ask for a deposit to cover the initial stock order and plates.

5. Deposit

I request a non-refundable deposit which blocks out the production time and initiates the ordering of plates and relevant card stocks. Until the deposit has been paid, other orders may take priority. As soon as I have the deposit I can give you a realistic delivery date.

STEP 4

PRODUCTION & DELIVERY

Production slots are scheduled once the deposit is paid and i generally aim to complete the work within 10 business days. You can either collect from Weston Turville for FREE or i will ship out to you with tracking details.

6. Printing

I always aim to have your wedding invitations printed and finished within 10 working days of receiving the deposit amount. However, as you can appreciate at peak times this may vary but I will sure deadline expectations are communicated. If you want to ensure that Ellie Press can fulfil the stationery for your particular date then please drop me an email to ensure I reserve the dates to meet your order deadlines.

All letterpress stationery, hot foiling and hand finishing details are carried out in my own studio in Weston Turville.

7. Delivery

Ellie Press will contact you via email as soon as your order is complete so that we can arrange a suitable date for delivery. Stationery can be collected for free from Weston Turville or it is sent via Royal Mail signed for. Samples and small items are sent via first class post.
